IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Opening of the first Water Science-Policy Interface Colloquium (SPIC Water)
On 14 June, UNESCO Director-General, Audrey Azoulay, attended the opening of the first Water Science-Policy Interface Colloquium (SPIC Water), during which ministers in charge of water resources convened at UNESCO’s Headquarters in Paris to present and discuss the progress made thus far in implementing SDG 6 (Water and sanitation) and other water related targets.
