position for a candidate with experience in Hydrological modelling and data analysis, Belgium
Antea®Group is an international engineering and environmental consulting firm specializing in full-service solutions in the fields of environment, infrastructure, urban planning and water.  The work of our Belgian Business Unit Water is focused on coastal zone management, water management systems, flood forecasting, water policy, surface and groundwater and modeling, urban water and sediment management.
We are offering a position in Belgium for a candidate with experience in Hydrological modelling and data analysis who wants to apply his engineering and science skills to the engineering & consulting industry. This position provides the opportunity to explore interests, develop professional skills and solve complex problems. Working alongside other experts on integrated catchment and hydrology modelling and analysis projects, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and build technical knowledge in both office and field work settings.
Your role:
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team in at least one of the following segments:
- Developing models for catchment processes.
- Setting up rainfall-runoff models (lumped and distributed) using different commercial and open source applications.
- Managing hydrological data sets.
- Developing algorithms and programming applications for numerical modelling and/or data management
- Validating numerical setups following strict methodologies; report the procedures.
- Carry out studies to asses effects of  climate change in inland or coastal areas
- Assisting the development and/or validation of hydrodynamic models (1D, 2D, 3D);
- Reporting technical activities and findings, giving presentations to different audiences.
Your profile:
·University degree; holder of a master's or PhD degree in an engineering discipline or applied sciences.
·Solid understanding of numerical modeling (particularly for applications in hydrology) is a must.
·Specific experience (minimum 3 years) developing hydrological models (Wetspa, NAM, PDM, …) is demanded. 
·Good understanding and ability to handle uncertainties.
·Knowledge and talent for programming is necessary. Preferably in Python or .NET, additional programming languages like Java and FORTRAN are welcome.
·Skilled in GIS, experience with ArcGIS or OSA.
·Experience in automatisation of data processing, proficiency with R, Matlab and/or PC-Raster is desirable
·Experience in interpretation of field measurement results (hydrological and sediment data).
·You have the ambition to quickly boost your expertise in numerical modeling, data processing and hydrology
·Your mother tongue is English or Dutch (or you are very fluent in one or more of these languages)
·You have interest and capability in developing new methods and tools to analyze data sets.
·You are technologically literate, an organizer and strive for quality and accuracy.
·You are eager to demonstrate your skills in a competitive environment and convince the client of the added value of Antea Group;
