IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Water Quality Engineering, University of Cape Town, South Africa
The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Cape Town has an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching in civil engineering including: water quality engineering, structural engineering, construction materials, hydraulics, transport studies and urban engineering.
Applications are invited for a full-time academic post in Water Quality Engineering. The appointee will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in water quality engineering (water and wastewater treatment), as well as in the core undergraduate curriculum. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to join one or more relevant research groups in the Department and Faculty and be actively engaged in research in the water field including postgraduate supervision. He/she will have access to the new Water Quality Engineering laboratory.
·A BSc degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
·A minimum of three years’ experience in research and/or consulting with a demonstrated competence in the field of water quality engineering
·For appointment at the associate professor level, the minimum requirement is a PhD and a proven track record of student supervision and research output
