IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Assistant Professor, Lebanese American University, Lebanon
The Department of Civil Engineering, an ABET accredited program, at the School of Engineering (located in Byblos, Lebanon) invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the field of Civil Engineering effective September 2016. The department is seeking highly qualified candidates in all areas of specialization. The position will be at the assistant professor rank but higher ranks may be considered for qualified candidates with an outstanding teaching, service, and research record.
Candidates must have an undergraduate degree and an earned Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, (with preference given to those who have U.S. experience in teaching, industry, and holders of P.E. licenses). Postdoctoral experience and/or expertise in teaching will be an advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, build a strong research program, attract external funding, advise students, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in service activities in the department, School and the University.
