Senior Research Associate, University of East Anglia, UK
We are looking for an expert in molecular biology to develop a protocol for CRISPR/Cas mediated gene knock-out in the polar diatom Fragilariopsis clylindrus. This 2-year project is funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (US) and aims at providing a step change in our understanding how polar diatoms are adapted to their unique environment by applying genome editing. The work on this project will be conducted in collaboration with The Sainsbury Laboratory in Norwich and the group of Prof Sophien Kamoun.
You must have a minimum of a relevant PhD, and experience with genome editing is desirable. You must also be able to fulfil all essential elements of the person specification. The full time post is available immediately for a fixed term of 2 years, with a fixed term end date no later than 1 April 2018.
