The full professor (1.0 / 0.8 fte) is responsible for the scientific development of interdisciplinary research and education in the field of Water Systems and Global Change (WGC). Within the WGC group there are currently three different natural sciences based research lines that aim at identifying, quantifying and assessing:
dynamic feedbacks and interactions between water and global change, modelled and observed at different spatial and temporal scales;
impacts, vulnerabilities and risks of global change on water, agricultural and energy sectors;
opportunities to reduce impacts of global change by different adaptation and mitigation strategies for water and agriculture.
The candidate holds a PhD degree, is a dynamic person, an internationally recognised scientist in this field and an inspiring team leader. S/he has excellent academic and practical experience in the field as shown in an internationally strong publication record, good international networks and an active involvement in societal debates.
S/he has the ability to develop in-depth new research lines in close collaboration with the team. S/he has extensive international project/research experience and a proven record in raising research/project funding.
The candidate has a connective management style. S/he has an inspiring long term vision on the development of the scientific WGC field and a clear view on its scientific and societal impact. Applicants are expected to have a passion for teaching at all academic levels and the ability to inspire students of diverse cultural backgrounds.
We offer a full-time permanent position as full professor, participating in an enthusiastic, diverse and creative scientific team. Gross monthly salary dependent on expertise and experience of up to € 7285.- for full time employment. We offer flexible working conditions to support a good work – life balance of our employees.
