We need a talented researcher to perform observational and modelling analysis on the role of the Tibetan Plateau on East Asian hydroclimate and jet-stream dynamics, topics of fundamental importance to water resources in the region and with impacts worldwide.
As part of the CSSP-China programme (Newton Fund/Met Office Climate Science for Services Partnership-China), funded by the UK government BIS UK-China Research and Innovation Partnership Fund, you will participate as part of a unique new research programme. You will work closely with collaborators at the Met Office and in China.
You will have:
A Ph.D. or equivalent in physical or mathematical sciences
Substantial experience of data analysis and computer programming
Understanding of physical processes relating to weather and climate
