IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, University of Central Florida
The University of Central Florida is focused on increasing the prominence of its Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering (CECE) Department (http://www.cece.ucf.edu) by developing a world-class environmental engineering program. Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position in the Environmental Engineering program in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering. This is an Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure-track position starting in August 2016. To be considered for the Associate Professor rank, applicants should have established a vibrant, externally funded, PhD level research program and shown teaching proficiency and have made significant progress towards establishing a national/international reputation including publications in the best journals in their field(s) of study.
UCF offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering. The undergraduate degree is ABET-accredited. The CECE Department faculty maintains diverse, active, and successful research programs and also has a strong history of collaboration with the Florida Department of Transportation including environmental impacts and noise.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, or a closely-related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in air pollution control engineering with emphasis on modeling the environmental and climate impact of anthropogenic air pollutants, to include but not limited to carbonaceous aerosols, meteorology and dynamics, Gaussian dispersion modeling (both for point source and mobile sources), pollution characteristic investigations including toxic and hazardous substances, transport models, noise and impact on public health and related ambient air quality regulations.
Successful applicants will have either demonstrated, or shown a clear potential for creative and independent research that would lead to strong extramurally-funded research with development of inclusive and diverse partnerships, and national/international recognition. Demonstrated (or potential) teaching proficiency is also an expectation. Preference will be given to those who have a Professional Engineering license, or who are able and willing to become registered.
Located in the Orlando Metropolitan area, UCF has over 60,000 students enrolled making it one of the largest universities in the United States. The Fall 2014 freshmen class for the College of Engineering and Computer Science had an average high school GPA of 3.95, SAT score of 1285, and ACT score of 28.1. This class also included 86 National Merit Scholars. There is a large Research Park located adjacent to the university as well as Kennedy Space Center, power plants, and large and small utilities in the metropolitan area.
