Coastal/Marine Structural Engineer, Destin, Florida
MRD Associates, Inc. has an opening for an experienced and highly motivated coastal/marine structural engineer to assist with the growing demand for our waterfront services.  Our office is located in Destin, Florida and provides professional coastal and marina consulting services serving projects in Southeast U.S. and internationally.   Representative projects include a wide range of challenging coastal, marina, coastal structures, waterfront development, FEMA studies, and dredging projects.
Professional Engineer registered in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Bahamas or able to obtain registration within 6 months of employment.  Advanced degrees in coastal, structural, civil or related engineering discipline.  Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the planning, permitting, analysis and design of coastal and marine projects, and conducting FEMA studies.  Proficiency in applying the Coastal Engineering Manual, and have an in depth understanding of the coastal and marine environment.  Computer modeling experience with STAAD, Support-IT, GROUP Pile, OPTIMOOR, SMS, CEDAS, MIKE, WMS (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS), CHAMPS a plus.
Must have excellent client relationship and communication skills.  Be a self-starter, set priorities, and work individually and as part of a team.  Be a U.S. citizen or already holding a permanent work visa is required.
Provide personalized service for our clients from concept and design to delivery.  Manage all aspects of multiple projects and deliver on-time and under budget.  Conduct field investigations, data collection, data analyze, develop engineering and economic feasibility studies, engineering and design, prepare construction plans and specifications, prepare cost estimates, and provide construction phase services specifically for coastal and marine structures.  Ability and desire to market the firm to bring in new work. Travel is required.
