IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Two Fully Funded Positions for Outstanding Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researchers, The University of Liege
The University of Liege (ULg) offers two fully funded positions for outstanding doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. The appointment should start optimally  on 1/10/2015. The duration of the fellowships is 24 months for the postdoctoral researcher and 48 months for the PhD candidate.
The researchers will contribute to different projects under the themes hydrology, fluvial hydraulics or hydraulic engineering:
·sediment transport, morphodynamic modelling and reservoir sedimentation,
·weirs, spillways and dissipation structures,
·continuous rainfall-runoff modelling and high resolution flood risk analysis,
·adaptation to the hydrological impacts of climate change
According to The Scientist (2009), the University of Liege was ranked 9th best place in the world to do a post-doc.
