IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Assistant Research Professor, Advanced Water Technologies, US

The Desert Research Institute's (DRI's) Division of Hydrologic Sciences invites applications for a research faculty position in the area of advanced water technologies. Expertise could include, but it is not limited to membrane technology, desalination, advanced oxidation, with applications in water reuse, process engineering, the water-energy nexus, water sustainability, and technology commercialization. The position is located in Las Vegas, Nevada and is part of NSF EPSCoR's Solar-Water-Environment-Nexus program (http://nvsolarnexus.org) whose goal is to advance knowledge and discovery through research on solar energy generation, its environmental impacts and associated water issues.

The successful candidate will be expected to work across interdisciplinary boundaries to address emerging challenges in the water treatment area in collaboration with, but not limited to, faculty members from DRI, the Universities of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and Reno (UNR). Specifically, the successful candidate will become a member of the NEXUS program and is expected to work collaboratively with other NEXUS program members.
