Post-doctoral Fellow - water resources management programme, India

The Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies (CERMES) in The University of the West Indies, Barbados is seeking to appoint a Post-doctoral Fellow to join its water resources management programme.

CERMES is looking to build its capacity to engage in climate change and water resources related research through a portfolio of funded research projects. To this end we are looking to recruit a post-doctoral research fellow in one or more of the following areas: catchment basin modelling, water resource systems, water and land management, hydroinformatics, water and ecosystems, and impact of climate change on water systems.

The successful applicant should ideally have Caribbean connections and will be expected to contribute to the development of a water research agenda within CERMES and more broadly across The UWI; identify research opportunities; develop research objectives and proposals, and contribute to the process of securing funds.  The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively with scientists from other disciplines, particularly climate change, contribute to the teaching programme and act as team leader as required.

Qualifications and experience: Applicants must have a PhD relevant or related to their discipline. Evidence of publication, ability to write research proposals and manage research projects would be desirable.

Conditions of work: The post is based at CERMES on the Cave Hill Campus of The UWI in Barbados. This is a fixed term post for one year though an extension to two years may be possible; a continued role in CERMES would be dependent on the securing of further funding.

Detailed applications (two copies) giving full particulars of qualifications and experience, biodata and the names, addresses (including email) and telephone numbers of three (3) referees (one of whom should be from your present organization) should be sent as soon as possible to Dr Adrian Cashman, Centre for Resources Management and Environmental Studies (CERMES), The University of the West Indies, P.O. Box 64, Bridgetown, BB11000, Barbados. Telephone (246) 417-4829.  Email:adrian.cashman@cavehill.uwi.edu. Applications forms are available athttp://www.cavehill.uwi.edu/vacancies/. A CV should be also included.
