The University of Leeds is offering up to 3 Postdoctoral Fellowships (EPSRC Doctoral Prize) starting between 1 August 2015 and 30 October 2015 available for engineers and scientists who wish to establish a career in research.
As the programme offers the first step into a research career, before commencement in post candidates will have submitted their PhD thesis and completed their viva (with a Pass or minor corrections) between 1 October 2014 and 30 September 2015.
Candidates who are studying at other universities and those wishing to move to new areas of research are encouraged to apply. Candidates who have been offered or already have a permanent position are considered to have already achieved the aims of the programme and therefore will not be eligible. The programme is designed to offer support and be flexible.
Induction, mentoring and career development planning are important elements of the support to be delivered. Award holders will have a mentor (removed from line management and not their former supervisor).
