IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Modeller Job Opportunity: Tidal Lagoons (UK)
Tidal Lagoon Power is leading the innovation and implementation of tidal lagoon technology within the UK, initially focussed on the development the world's first tidal lagoon at Swansea Bay and followed by a substantial programme of further lagoons. It aims to bring sustainability, reliability and long-term security to the UK energy mix. 
 
We are looking to expand our dynamic team of modellers and have openings for enthusiastic candidates holding an interest in marine science. Duties will include the use of sophisticated numerical models (primarily Delft3D and Mike) and assisting with the preparation of project proposals and production of technical reports. 
 
The successful applicant will be highly numerate with a degree in a marine based engineering or science subject and be able to interpret their work for both the environmental and engineering departments of the organisation.Technical skills and expertise in at least one area of waves, tides or sediment dynamics is expected. 
 
The remuneration package will depend on experience and we would welcome applications from graduates through to those with 10+ years of experience. 
 
The position will be based at the Company’s headquarters in Gloucester. The applicant would be expected to work closely with ABPmer, the specialist marine environmental consultancy, and training will take place at their offices in Southampton.
