Fully funded PhD position, London, UK
We have a fully funded PhD position available and would welcome applications from well-qualified students with an excellent first degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics. The PhD project will concern the combined wave and current loading on tidal turbines. A sound background in fluid mechanics is essential, but specialist knowledge of waves or wave loading is not. Funding is only available for UK or EU citizens.
The project will be supervised by Dr Johannes Spinneken, and will be based in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London. The project will involve numerical simulations and experimental measurements. As such, candidates should have strong analytical and numerical capabilities. The post will be held open until a suitable candidate is identified.
If you are interested in applying for this position, please contact Dr Johannes Spinneken with a copy of your CV. Further particulars can be provided upon request.
