IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Postdoctoral Fellow Position at the National University of Singapore
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at National University of Singapore invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position. The successful candidate will be involved in the development and implementation of a hydrologic-hydrodynamic coupled model.

Applicants must have a Ph.D in Civil, Environmental or Coastal Engineering, Physical Oceanography or a closely related field. Candidates are required to have experience in model coupling (MCT), unstructured-grid hydrodynamic models (SUNTANS, FVCOM, UnTRIM, SELFE), hydrologic models (InHM, PIHM), solid programming skills in C and be comfortable with working in a parallel computing environment. The candidate will function as a lead researcher in the project, and be expected to present scientific methods and findings in publications and conferences.

The appointment will be for 12 months, with continuation subject to satisfactory performance. The compensation ranges from S$48K - 60K (US$38K - 48K), with tax rates for resident individuals (incl. foreigner working in Singapore for 183 days or more) at roughly 2% (http://www.iras.gov.sg/irashome/page04.aspx?id=1190).
