The Faculty of Engineering and the Environment is seeking a highly skilled and motivated person to provide technical support for research in Hydrodynamics and structural testing. This encompasses working on the Highfield and Chilworth Campuses.
You will have a degree in engineering or physical science. You will be responsible for managing activities in the testing facilities where leading edge research work is conducted.
A key part of the role will be the strategic development of the facilities, designing, developing and building specialist experimental apparatus and rigs. Maintaining and ensuring safe operation of the facilities on both sites. You will be comfortable with using electrical / electronic systems along with experience of using a wide range of transducers and sensors.
You will be responsible for all training and health and safety aspects for students and staff using the facilities, as well as engaging in consultancy and teaching activities.
