Call for Entries: Dam Safety 2014 Student Paper and Poster Competitions and Scholarship
ASDSO invites students to submit papers and posters on dam and levee safety. Topics may include traditional areas of design engineering, structural and geotechnical analysis, hydrology, hydraulics, construction, risk management and hazard mitigation, emergency action planning, dam security, and policy. In addition, case studies, emerging and innovative technologies, and senior capstone projects are encouraged. Additional information for the following can be found on the ASDSO website.
Paper Competition
Each winning paper will receive $500 and a travel stipend to present at Dam Safety 2014. Winning papers will also be published in the annual conference proceedings. Other selected entries will be invited to participate in the Dam Safety 2014 Poster Forum.
Deadline: February 17, 2014
Poster Competition
Each poster winner will receive a certificate and special recognition during Dam Safety 2014. Poster submissions are encouraged for those students with topics of a more narrow scope or limited depth and do not wish to submit a paper or be considered for a full technical session presentation. Note: Poster winners will have the option of writing a paper for the proceedings.

Successful recipients must be U.S. citizens and enrolled full-time at the senior level (during the 2014/2015 school year) in an accredited civil engineering program, or in a related field as determined by ASDSO, and must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in hydraulics, hydrology or geotechnical disciplines, or in another discipline related to the design, construction and operation of dams.
Deadline: March 31, 2014
