Research Assistant or Research Associate in Physically-based Catchment Modelling, Civil Engineering, Bristol, UK
We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to evaluate physically-based models of catchment scale hydrological processes in different regions across Europe. The project will use multi-objective analysis to explore the level of physically-based model complexity that is necessary in the context of integrated catchment management. A PhD and/or post-doctoral experience in hydrology or a related discipline (e.g. civil engineering or environmental science) with a focus on numerical modelling of environmental processes is essential. Strong programming skills and experience with high performance computing and uncertainty analysis/optimization are desirable. Profs Thorsten Wagener, Dawei Han and Jim Freer, as part of the EU-funded SWITCH-ON project, will supervise the position. This 3-year PDRA position is based in Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol, UK. It is expected that interviews will be held during the week commencing 25 November 2013.
