IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Call for CoMEM Applications 2014-2016 Erasmus Mundus MSc Coastal and Marine Engineering and Management (CoMEM)
International Erasmus Mundus Masters Course in Coastal and Marine Engineering and Management (CoMEM) 2014-2016, starting at NTNU, Norway in August 2014 (7th cohort). CoMEM is an MSc programme with European mobility and scholarships. CoMEM supported and sponsored by the European Union, is currently entering its 7th cohort.
CoMEM is a study programme resulting in multiple degrees and is jointly given by:
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway;
UPC BarcelonaTech, Barcelona, Spain;  
TU Delft, Delft, the Netherlands; 
City University London, London, UK; 
University of Southampton; Southampton UK.

NTNU as the coordinating university  will accept CoMEM applications from 3 October  – 1 December 2013 for Erasmus Mundus Scholarships Applicants and until 1 March 2014 for self-supported applicants. Online application at: http://www.ntnu.edu/studies/mscomem.
The programme welcomes both Non-European and European applicants. By now, CoMEM have had students from the following 31 countries:
Australia, Bangladesh, Barbados, Brazil, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, The Netherlands, Ethiopia, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico, Polen, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Turkey, UK, USA, Vietnam
By now a total of  78 MSc candidates have graduated in CoMEM.
To be considered for the scholarship interested candidates must apply from 3 October to 1 December 2013
The Erasmus Mundus Master in Coastal and Marine Engineering and Management (CoMEM) is a two-year, English taught international Master’s program, in which five high-rated European universities participate. Students study key issues involved in providing sustainable, environmentally friendly, legally and economically acceptable solutions to various problems in the CoMEM field; they will also develop their research skills. In doing so, they get to know the geographical diversity of coastal and marine systems and gain knowledge on the most advanced tools and techniques.  During the programme, students study at universities in two or three different countries.
All students spend the first semester at NTNU, Trondheim, Norway. The next semesters depending on their choice of specialization they will visit one or two of following universities UPC BarcelonaTech, Spain;  TU Delft, the Netherlands; City University London, UK; and/or  University of Southampton; UK.
