IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Introducing JAWER - Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research
We are proud to introduce the new IAHR initiative, the online Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research (JAWER) published jointly with the World Council of Civil Engineering (WCCE). Prof. Tobias Bleninger, from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil is the Editor in Chief.
Free access is available to all articles featured in the first issue of 2013.
JAWER is included in the IAHR membership fee.
JAWER publishes peer-reviewed papers and practical case studies on all aspects of hydro-environment engineering and research. Practically-oriented papers and case studies are particularly welcome. Papers cover engineering solutions for fluid systems in the hydrosphere, such as rivers, lakes, coastal waters, including hydraulic machinery, hydraulic structures, and hydraulics applied to water supply, treatment and drainage systems. There is a strong interest also in hydro-environmental phenomena associated to environmental monitoring, catchment hydraulics, maritime hydraulics, water quality and ecohydraulics with emphasis on mixing and transport processes and their role for climate change studies, flood risk management, water related hazards, desalination, re-use and water security within an engineering context. JAWER welcomes applications related to integrated water resources management, coastal and hydropolicy, and aims for international dissemination of innovative methods specifically showcasing studies on interfacing technology-based engineering solutions within the hydro-environment and its ecological values and services.

The Journal aims to publish paradigm-changing content, with articles providing directly applicable solutions to water engineering problems, and insight into case studies and practical research.

For more information about the journal and its free content, please visit the JAWER homepage.
