Coastal Engineer/Scientist, Alexandria, VA
The person in this position will be responsible for leading the technical execution of projects within Baker’s Coastal Practice, both within their geography and nationally. Typical projects would involve coastal flood hazard analysis, climate change impact assessment, extreme value analysis, and numerical modeling of coastal processes. 
The successful candidate will have:
  • Minimum of a Masters degree with a focus on coastal, ocean, or marine engineering or science.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in:
  • Analysis of nearshore hydrodynamics, wave mechanics, sediment transport, numerical modeling, statistical modeling or similar.
  • Coastal or ocean engineering/sciences, marine structural engineering, port engineering or similar.
  • Successful management of technical projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong mastery of statistical analysis, including Extreme Value Analysis, Multivariate Analysis and Monte-Carlo simulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated history of leadership and independent success.
