IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Postdoctoral position at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada
A one-year postdoctoral position is available at Concordia University’s Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering for studying alterations in the magnitude, frequency and the risk of rainfall extremes under climate change conditions in a project to analyze the impact of climate change on the stormwater collection system in the City of Saskatoon, Canada. Applicants should hold a PhD degree in civil engineering, geography, earth system sciences or similar disciplines with knowledge in hydrology, statistical analyses and computer programming. Some previous background in downscaling, climate change impact assessment and handling large data is essential for this post. In this position, the post-doc will work closely with the City of Saskatoon and other graduate students on the project.  An extension to the position to a second year is envisioned upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funds. The successful applicant will be based in downtown Montreal at Concordia University’s Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, located at the state-of-the-art Engineering and Visual Art Complex. The position should be filled as soon as possible and will be held open until the appropriate applicant is found.
