IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Assistant/Associate Prof Civil Engineering (Water Resources), UAE University, United Arab Emirates

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (CEED) at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a faculty position in the area of water resources at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank beginning fall semester of the 2018/19 academic year.

The successful candidate should hold a doctoral degree in Civil Engineering/Water Resources related disciplines. He/she must have outstanding credentials in one or more of the following areas: Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics, Water Resources Management, Surface Water, Groundwater, Environmental Engineering, Water Distribution Networks or other related areas. Special consideration will be given to candidates with degrees/experience in the areas of water desalination, water Technology, and coastal hydrodynamics. The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct independent research, supervise graduate students, and collaborate with other CEEDfaculty and research staff at UAEU. We are particularly interested in attracting academically and culturally diverse candidates, especially those who can contribute to the growing diversity and excellence of the community through their teaching, scholarship, and service.

The successful candidate is expected to launch and maintain an independent, externally funded research program within the CEED, with a preference for expertise in the broader field of water resources.
