Senior Coastal Engineer / Project Manager, Dubai
Sogreah Gulf (ARTELIA) is Looking for Senior Coastal Engineer / Project Manager to Join its Team in Dubai.

Senior Coastal Engineer / Project Manager at Sogreah Gulf (ARTELIA) based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Full time (40h+/week, 5d/week), permanent contract.
The responsibilities for this position include:
  • Lead and work as part of a cohesive team to successfully deliver maritime and multi-disciplinary projects (design, specifications, tender documents) to our clients in time and within budget;
  • Ensure that analyses and design tasks meet applicable international standards while meeting the client’s expectations in terms of project requirements and budgets;
  • Proactively collaborate with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables;
  • Assist the Maritime Director with mentoring, training and career development of less experienced staff members of the maritime group;
  • Be involved in business development in the ME and SE Asia.
You will be permanently based in Dubai and will be required to travel in order to carry out your duties. You will report to the Maritime Director.

Sogreah Gulf, ARTELIA Group is an established consultant on the maritime market in the Gulf region. Sogreah Gulf provides design and site supervision services.  The Company has a large portfolio of maritime projects with port authorities, private developers and marine contractors in the UAE, the Gulf Region and South-East Asia. Our engineers cover a wide range of engineering skills including water, infrastructure, coastal, maritime, port, geotechnical and marine structural engineering.
We are looking for a self-motivating, hard-working and responsible civil, coastal or hydraulics engineer with a passion for coastal and maritime engineering. The candidate needs to have a strong personality to deal successfully with the demanding requirements that are typical for the region and keen to go the extra mile when required to deliver high end projects in time to our clients.
The minimum requirements are:
  • BSc degree in coastal, civil or hydraulic engineering;
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience;
  • Proven track record of delivering similar projects in the coastal, maritime and port sector;
  • Proven track record of strong project management skills;
  • Competent in the preparation of proposals, fee estimates and schedules;
  • Proficient in the English language;
  • Excellent technical reporting skills;
  • Practical experience in most of the coastal numerical models: wave propagation, wave penetration, coastal hydrodynamics, longshore and cross-shore beach models, sediment transport and recirculation studies;
  • Practical experience in design of rock structures (revetment, breakwaters), scour protection, beaches, dredging and reclamation works, marinas, ports and  navigation channels;
  • Experience in physical modelling (define specifications, set-up and interpretation of the models)
  • Experience in writing tender documents and specifications for large marine projects;
  • Thorough knowledge of international codes, guidelines and standards applicable in maritime engineering;
  • Basic understanding of geotechnical   and marine structural engineering.
Candidates with the following qualifications and/or technical skills will be preferred:
  • MSc degree/Phd in coastal engineering;
  • Construction management experience;
  • Port planning;
  • Static and Dynamic mooring studies;
  • Navigation studies;
  • Business development skills with an existing network in the Gulf region and/or South-East Asia.
