IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

DHI Online, Instructor-Led Course "Shoreline Management", Denmark
DHI’s Coastal and Estuarine Department (DK-CED) will be running an online, modular, instructor-led training course "SHORELINE MANAGEMENT - How to develop and protect our coast" during November 2017. The course is divided up into 4 modules and aims to provide professionals involved in shoreline management with an understanding of the methodologies, processes and tools available in shoreline management. 
The course, which will be run by trainers, who all possess international reputation within coastal development and management, will focus on
·Module 1 - Introduction to Shoreline Management (02 November)
·Module 2 - Protecting our coast. Coastal land scaping (09 November)
·Module 3 - Waterfront developments. Ports and water intakes/outfalls (16 November)
·Module 4 - Planning for climate change (23 November)
