IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Fully funded PhD scholarship, Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC), Lancaster University, UK

A fully funded (UK/EU fees and stipend) PhD project is available at Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC), Lancaster University, UK. The project is aiming to develop an online platform for collecting and analysing data to support coastal adaptation. It will combine elements of GIS, Remote Sensing and Citizen Science. This is a collaborative project with a local company and the local authority.

This project would be suitable for applicants with a background in developing online applications, remote sensing, and with a strong interest in data management. Applicants should be confident in conveying complex information in simple ways that encourage community engagement.
