IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Industrial Placement 2017/18, HR Wallingford, UK

We have vacancies for an industrial trainee for one year commencing in July 2017. The positions would suit undergraduate students whose course includes a sandwich year in industry, or those able to take a year in industry between the first and second, or second and third years of their undergraduate course.

The main duties will involve constructing and running physical models, data processing and analysing results to enable them to be presented to clients. 
Candidates should be sharp, numerate, articulate, and should have considerable personal drive. Those studying civil or coastal engineering, or a numerate science, are especially welcome to apply. Familiarity with the use of spreadsheets and word processing packages is essential, and knowledge of a computer language would also be useful. 

In addition to a salary of circa £18,500 per annum, the Company offers excellent benefits including flexible working hours, staff restaurant and a Sports and Social Club.
