IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Senior Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in Water Supply, Sewage and Sanitation Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Brunei, BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) is an Engineering and Technology University which provides a host of teaching, learning and research opportunities in the areas of Engineering, Business and Technology and is committed to attracting, encouraging and retaining a highly qualified workforce to support our mission of excellence. It is a platform for the passionate and dedicated to hone their skills and knowledge in areas of expertise, to supervise and mentor our undergraduates, masters and PhD graduates.  UTB offers its academics various opportunities to work collaboratively with key stakeholders including the government, private sector and the industry in the various disciplines to achieve the vision and national aspirations of the people and government of Brunei Darussalam.

It is a full time contract. The period of contract is 3 years which is renewable subject to mutual agreement.

Applications are now invited for the positions of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Senior Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in Water Supply, Sewage and Sanitation Engineering, Civil Engineering Programme Area, Faculty of Engineering, and suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply.


Applicants must have at least an Upper Second-class Honours degree, a Master’s degree (preferably Distinction) and a PhD qualification in the area of Civil / Environmental / Public Health Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised university, and have a proven track record of teaching and research in at least one of the areas of water supply and sewage, sanitation engineering, and public health. Relevant industrial experience and/or professional qualification(s) would be an added advantage.

The successful candidates should be able to design and teach modules in Water Supply, Sewage and Sanitation Engineering, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Applicants should also have proven ability to successfully supervise research students at postgraduate level. Active participation in the programme administration and activities of the Faculty is also expected.
