Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Lecturer Level 4 salary: £31,656 rising in annual increments to £35,609 per annum
Lecturer Level 5 salary: £36,672 rising in annual increments to £46,414 per annum
Associate Professor Level 6 salary: £47,801 rising in annual increments to £60,081 per annum
The position is based in the Water and Environmental Engineering Group which is a multi-disciplinary group including engineers and scientists with wide range of research interests.  We wish to appoint a member of staff in the area of civil engineering hydraulics / fluid mechanics, with a preference for experimental research interests. Possible areas of specialisation could include, but are not limited to, river engineering, coastal engineering, hydraulic structures and water networks.
Candidates for the post must be able to develop a programme of original research that complements and extends our existing strengths, and should have an existing track record of obtaining external funding and delivering outputs at a level commensurate with experience. The appointee will be expected to conduct research at an international level, to teach courses in relevant fields and to supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. The Faculty offers exceptional research facilities in the area of water engineering.
The successful applicant will join a leading engineering faculty with a national and international reputation in research, teaching and knowledge transfer.
