IAHR, founded in 1935, is a worldwide independent member-based organisation of engineers and water specialists working in fields related to the hydro-environmental sciences and their practical application. Activities range from river and maritime hydraulics to water resources development and eco-hydraulics, through to ice engineering, hydroinformatics, and hydraulic machinery.

Post-doctoral Research Fellows, Shenzhen University, China
Shenzhen is a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Guangdong Province, China, locating immediately north of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The geographic advantage allows Shenzhen to have close collaborations with Hong Kong. Shenzhen is also a major financial center and one of the most populous cities in China. The city is on the list of UNESCO Creative Cities and the most livable city in China. 
Founded as a public university in 1983, Shenzhen University (http://www.szu.edu.cn/2014/) is one of the leading research-focused comprehensive universities. It maintains a high-caliber teaching staff with high qualifications and diverse academic background. Shenzhen University strongly advocates international exchange and cooperation. Up till now, the university has established cooperative relationships with more than 150 overseas universities and attracted over 1,000 international students every year pursuing their study here. Shenzhen University is ranking 30th among all the universities in China regarding to the total amount of the awarded national research grants in 2015. 
Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Durability for Marine Civil Engineering (http://www.sz-durability.org/) in the Faculty of Civil Engineering is an internationally recognised leading centre for research in the durability of RC structures. We are now seeking for three Post-Doctoral Research Fellows for durability research on Reinforced concrete (RC) structures. The research project is to use FRP strengthening technique to repair RC structures with corroded reinforcement. The post holders will mainly focus on the finite element modeling by using software such as ABAQUS to simulate the repaired specimens, the mass transportation modeling by using software such as COMSOL Multiphysics to simulate the process among various interfaces, or investigating the electrochemical properties and mass transportation mechanism of such system under impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP). 
The applicants having research experience on the following aspects are preferred:
Experimental program of RC structures strengthened by FRP;
Numerical simulation of RC structures;
Simulation on the interface between FRP and concrete materials
Incorporation of electrochemical properties in the FE models;
Simulation (COMSOL Multiphysics) of mass transportation in RC structures;
Using techniques such as XRD, IR, XPS to analyze concrete materials. 
Successful applicant will have a 3 (to 6)-month probation period plus a two-year contract; the salary for the job is up to 250,000 RMB per year. This position is available immediately.
