Building on our continued world-class research and teaching performance, we are seeking to appoint from the world’s brightest early career researchers a tenure-track Chancellor’s Fellow. In this prestigious 5-year post, initially, you will focus on research and innovation, whilst gradually taking on teaching duties, reaching a full teaching portfolio after 5 years. It is anticipated that following a successful review at the end of year 3, you will transition to an open-ended lectureship. An important focus of this Fellowship is to extend and develop our existing industrial collaboration and impact.
You will have begun to establish a reputation for the quality of your research in either academia or industry and will have a commitment to enhancing teaching and student support at University level in the discipline of Civil Engineering with a research focus on Data Science for Future Infrastructure. The appointee’s research could have various applications with existing industrial partners, e.g. CFD for aerodynamic issues relating to high-speed rail; Building Energy Modelling/Performance, resilience of wind-susceptible infrastructure.

Successful applicants will normally be appointed at Grade 8 having completed their PhD and acquired equivalent relevant postdoctoral experience which meets the University Grade 8 Academic Job Profile. Exceptionally, an appointment at Grade 9 may be made for someone with extensive experience of research leadership.
